If you have not been in the water or feel you are a weak swimmer, then this class is for you. This is a swimming/conditioning class. Attendance at this class does not guarantee you will pass the pre-course swim test. Courses correspond with the beginning of each lifeguard training class listed above.

Now that I've registered, what's next?
First, swimming attire should be a sport type swim suit. There are a lot of skills that require
you to jump in and climb out of the water.
Second, bring a lunch with you each day. You will need food and
beverages (water is best) to keep up your energy and keep you hydrated. Bring
healthy snacks--swimming makes you HUNGRY!
Third, bring multiple towels. Your towel may not have enough
time to dry while you are in and out of the water. The weather can be cold in the
spring months.
Fourth, be prepared to swim and be in the water a lot, so make sure you eat a healthy
breakfast and a good dinner the night before.
Fifth, if for some reason you are unable to pass the Pre-Course Test, please make
sure to have a ride home for that first day by 12 noon. You will not be able to participate in
the rest of class, so please be prepared.
