Customer Service
The City of Sacramento Department of Utilities Customer Service provides assistance to City residents and businesses Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at its counter and over the phone.

Our Customer Service staff can assist you on the phone or via an online service request with:
- Set-up new Utility Service for residential and commercial customers.
- Bill inquiries
- Credit card payments (Visa / MasterCard only)
- Missed collection services
- Neighborhood Cleanup appointments and information
- Container replacement or repair
- Used motor oil recycling appointments
- Vacancy Stops
- Disabled Services requests

The following services can only be completed at our Customer Service Counter at 1395 35th Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95822:
- Water and Sewer Tap sales
- Hydrant and Truck permits
- Utility bill payments (cash only)
The following services can only be completed at our Customer Service Counter at 300 Richard Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95811:
- Water and Sewer Tap sales
- Fire tap sales
- Meter Sales
Service Level Change Alert - Full Service Taps No Longer Available
Beginning September 1, 2009, the Department of Utilities (DOU) will begin to phase out its Full Service Tap work. Unless otherwise stated, customers needing these services to connect to City of Sacramento water, sewer, and/or combined sewer will need to hire a contractor. DOU will continue to provide its Easement Taps service.
These changes were made due to a reduction in available resources. Our goal is to continue to provide you with high quality services.

Customer Service is closed on weekends and major holidays. Operators are available 24 hours per day 7 days week by calling 311 within City limits or (916) 264-5011.
