Creative Edge Cultural Plan

Creative Edge

Sacramento can gain an edge in a creative economy! Join us to plan.

September 14, 2017

You are invited to join the conversation about the future of the arts in our city and region as part of Creative Edge: Sacramento's Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy Plan.

The City of Sacramento's Director of Cultural and Creative Economy Johnathan Glus is the lead in making Sacramento a hub of creativity.

"In other words, bringing together a diverse industry such as the artists, the playwrights, the set designers, the graphic designers, the creatives in advertising and sales, digital media, fashion, and its supporting partners. We are expanding the notion of what creativity and the arts is. Creativity is jobs coming to Sacramento," said Glus.

Attend the public launch of CREATIVE EDGE: Sacramento's Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy Plan at E. Clara Raley Studios Auditorium, 2420 N Street, on Monday, Sept. 18, from 6-8 p.m.

Input about community challenges, opportunities, and priorities will help the City better understand how to integrate the arts into local government priorities and the community. The result: A dynamic artist ecosystem and greater access to the arts for all.

The City is also inviting stakeholders to topic-specific roundtable discussions:

Creative Edge is an initiative to gather priorities, expectations, and needs regarding the Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy in the Sacramento area. The plan will engage the community at-large to create a comprehensive vision of culture and creativity for our city. The goal is to strengthen culturally vitality through excellent, relevant, and sustainable results that can be implemented over the next five to seven years.
