Sacramento Renter Protection and community stabilization charter amendment

On Friday, August 14, 2020, at 4:00 PM, the City Council will discuss placing this measure on the November 3, 2020, general municipal election.  The meeting will be streamed on the City's website here.  Additionally, this meeting will be broadcast live on Metrocable, Channel 14, AT&T Broadband Cable System.

On February 20, 2018, the City Clerk's Office received the Notice of Intent to circulate a petition for the purpose of adopting the Sacramento Renter Protection and Community Stabilization Charter Amendment.


Measures for the NOVEMBER 3, 2020 Election

Measure A: Sacramento Mayoral Accountability and Community Equity Act of 2020

On August 4, 2020 the Sacramento City Council passed a resolution to place the  Sacramento Mayoral Accountability and Community Equity Act of 2020 on the ballot for the November 3, 2020 election.

The primary argument closed August 7, 2020 at 5:00 PM. Arguments in support of and in opposition of the Measure were appropriately received. The rebuttal argument period opened at August 7, 2020 at 5:01 PM and will close August 17, 2020 at 5:00 PM. There are no exceptions for late submittals.

The Sacramento City Council passed an additional resolution directing the Office of the City Attorney to write and submit to the Office of the City Clerk an impartial analysis. The impartial analysis is due August 14, 2020.

Measure B: Sacramento Independent Redistricting Commission Timeline Exception 

On August 4, 2020 the Sacramento City Council passed a resolution to place the Sacramento Independent Redistricting Commission Timeline Exception on the ballot for the November 3, 2020 election. The primary argument period closed August 7, 2020 at 5:00 PM.  An argument in support of the measure was appropriately received. No arguments in opposition of the measure was received. There will be no rebuttal period.
