STANDARD INDUSTRIAL CLASSIFICATION (SIC) CODESIn order to properly classify your business firm in the City of Sacramento's Vendor Database, you will need to identify the type of business in which you are engaged. The Business Classification Categories used by the City of Sacramento are: NOTE: You must choose one Business Classification Category only. If your firm, as an example, makes a product (Manufacturer) and sells that product (Service), select the most dominate business classification. Once you have determined the Business Classification Category for your firm - and after recording that determination in SECTION 3 of the Certification Application - you will need to select the Standard Industry Classification (SIC) Code(s) that apply to your business. Select as many or as few SIC Codes as needed to properly describe the business of the firm. Record your selection(s) in SECTION 3 of the Application. These codes will be entered in the City of Sacramento's Vendor Database and used by City Departments when making provider selections for City contracts and orders. Primary contractors and other governmental agencies also search the data base when looking for subcontractors, providers, or suppliers. |
