CITY OF SACRAMENTO VENDOR DATABASE
CONTRACTOR or SUB-CONTRACTOR SEARCH INSTRUCTIONS

INSTRUCTIONS:
    (You may want to print these instructions before going into the database)

Enter the ESBD Vendor Database.

Select, Search by ESB, SBE, etc.

In the resulting screen, you have the option to search by individual firm name, or by SIC (Standard Industry Classification) Code.

     •  To search by individual firm name, type any part of the firm name in the box provided and click on View Search Results.

     •  To search by SIC Code, enter either the first letter(s) of the SIC Code description in the box provided, or scroll through the pick-list until you find the industry description of your choice. (See the List of SIC Codes or the list of Contractor License Code Descriptions).

        •  Select one or more (or, All) Certification Status options, depending upon your search criteria.

        •  Click on View Search Results

        •  Make your selection from the resulting list

Not all businesses in the database are certified by the City.  To determine a firm's City certification status, click on the business name to bring up additional information.  If the firm is certified with the City, there will be either SBE or EBE in the field after City Certified and a certification expiration date in the field after City Cert. Expires:.

     Note: SBE or EBE are the ONLY codes that indicate City certification. Any other code appearing in this field does not indicate City certification.

If you find a firm that you would like to use that is not City certified, but is State certified, contact the Office of Small Business Development for a provisional certification. A firm that is State certified will have SBE in the field after California Certif: and an expiration date in the field CACertif. Expires.

     Note:  SBE is the ONLY code that indicates State certification. Any other code appearing in this field does not indicate State certification.
