The Sacramento City C​o​u​n​c​i​l​ consists of a Mayor, elected by all City voters, and eight Council members, elected to represent separate districts in the City.


The Department of Utilities has officially kicked off the first construction phase of the Downtown Sewer Upgrade along 9th Street from G to L streets. 

The City of Sacramento and County have jointly opened cooling centers. The Hart Senior Center and the Hagginwood Community Center are open today from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. for those who need respite from the heat.

Community members are invited to share their thoughts on current challenges, opportunities for improvements, and proposed enhancements to the 16th/North 16th Street corridor between H Street and Richards Boulevard. 

All 17 City of Sacramento community pools are open or about to open to welcome the summer pool season! Kids swim for as little as $2 per session, adults are $4. Discounts are available.
