Shasta Park

Shasta Community Park is a 21.2-acre community park which includes the 20,000 S.F. Valley Hi/North Laguna Library. Shasta Community Park opened in spring 2009, and the library opened August 29, 2009.

Phase 1 of the park includes:

  • Landscape development of 13 acres of library and park
  • Off-street parking lot
  • Regulation soccer field
  • Softball field
  • Tetherball
  • Two horseshoe courts
  • Volleyball court
  • Walkways and jogging trail with exercise stations
  • Two children’s playgrounds (based Treasure Island and Swiss Family Robinson)
  • Large group picnic area with two shade structures
  • Individual picnic areas
  • Water Mister Area (Spray and Mister Features in City Parks run from Memorial through Labor Day Weekend)
  • Restroom
  • Outdoor reading area with Peter Rabbit Sculptures
  • Pathway Lighting

Phase 2 6 acres of park landscape development construction ended spring 2010 and includes the following:

  • An additional parking lot on the south side of the park
  • Two lighted tennis courts
  • Youth basketball court
  • Neighborhood skate park
  • Continuation of the walking and jogging trails
  • Additional Exercise stations
  • Outdoor wedding area with garden
  • Fabric Shade Canopies over both playgrounds
  • Soccer Field Sports Lighting

Phase 3 will include the community center (20,000 s.f.). Phase 3 is not funded at this time and no schedule has been identified.
