Swim Team

The Aquatics Section sponsors a citywide youth swim team program consisting of five teams and is designed to introduce swimmers to the environment of competitive swimming. Our rules are consistent with the U.S. Swimming rules. During the season, swimmers will compete in dual meets against other teams in the program. Parents are responsible for participants’ transportation to and from swim meets. Practices are one hour per day, four days per week. Lifeguards are selected by the Aquatics Section to coach each team.


  • Registration is available ONLINE or at City community centers ONLY.

  • We cannot take registrations at the pools.

  • Registration begins May 1st.

  • Practices are held for one hour, 4 days a week. Check back on May 1st for practice dates and times.

  • Tri meets: Held at Natomas HS and Pannell Meadowview Pools – A detailed schedule will be available May 1st.

  • A fun, all-league swim event will cap off the season on August 4, 2018


Age: *7 to 17 years old.  Age verification (birth certificate, etc) required. *Note minimum age restriction (age by July 1st 2018).

Minimum of beginning swimming skills, ability to safely swim in deep water without help, and be able to swim one lap continuously. Children will be water tested during the first few days of practice.Children who cannot meet these safety standards as determined by aquatics staff will not be eligible to swim on a team and will either be transferred into lessons or given a refund.

Tri Meets:

 A full schedule will be available May 1st.

Participant Behavior:

If your child’s behavior interferes with the program or results in disciplinary action during the course of the swim season, your child shall be expelled from the program. Inappropriate parent or guardian behavior can also result in your child being removed from the program.

Parent Assistance:

Parents/guardians are required to volunteer at swim meets a minimum of four hours for the season. Parents are responsible for participating in swim meets, team meetings and fund raising activities.
