Disney Museum and the Presidio of SF
September 9, 2023 - $120
Visit the DISNEY MUSEUM to learn more about the life of Walt Disney! This is a special guided tour where you’ll get to explore his tremendous successes, disappointments, and unyielding optimism as he worked for years in the field of animation. Check out the fourteen-foot model of Disneyland, and all the galleries showing Walt’s groundbreaking technological advances in sound, color, and storytelling through movies, music and listening stations. This museum was built by his family as a tribute to a one-of-a-kind person, Walt, who will forever touch the lives of the young and the young at heart.
In the afternoon, experience the Presidio story from 10,000 years ago to the present through multi-media displays – including films, images, and artifacts. A first-person film gives deeper meaning to the Presidio’s legacy and its new national park chapter. The Presidio has served as a military reservation from its establishment in 1776 as Spain's northern-most outpost of colonial power in the New World. It was one of the longest-garrisoned posts in the country and the oldest installation in the American West. The PRESIDIO MUSEUM offers a window into the changes in American society over a span of almost 150 years! The Presidio welcomes all, and it’s one of the best places in America to learn about our nation's past and to contemplate the next chapter.
