Age Together Now title

The Age Together Now aging awareness campaign is an effort of the City of Sacramento's Caring Neighborhoods program to encourage neighbors to reach out to each other and provideAge Together Now ad campaign with the title Long Live Community showing a male older adult and a younger male adult friendship and help with minor tasks to their older neighbors who may be somewhat isolated or could use a hand.

Support age-inclusiveness and interdependence, and reduce isolation and alienation in the communities where you live. Here are some of the things you can do:

  • Engage small groups of three or four neighbors to form an informal group, connect with the older neighbors on your block, and coordinate periodic visits and possibly other informal assistance.  City of Sacramento's Older Adult Services can assist with referral information about resources for any needed services and activities that might be identified. Learn more: Setting up a Caring Neighborhoods Group
  • See how other “age-friendly” cities are addressing age-inclusiveness in communities where they live.  Learn ideas about how you can encourage people in your neighborhood  to support the independence and engagement of older neighbors: Caring Neighborhoods Resources
  • Share a copy of the Caring Neighborhoods flyer with your friends and neighbors or post them in visible places in your neighborhood.  You can access our flyer in: Caring Neighborhoods Publications
