Important components of the program include:

  • Daily instructional classroom activities and access to the Life Skills Workshops

  • Completion of a Service-Learning Project

  • Receiving a paid stipend and 5 elective credits upon completion (For eligible school districts; NUSD, SCUSD and TRUSD)

  • A group presentation for Mayor and the City Council based upon advocacy project, titled Project City Hall

"Summer @ City Hall, is a six week program that gives students a great opportunity to receive a fantastic learning experience. Learning and working in local government helps us to understand how staff and city official achieve to manage our city properly. During the six weeks, the students are taught a curriculum focusing on civil engagement, personal enrichment and various life skills by certified teachers. Guest speakers are also  invited to hold different workshops to educate us on different topics. Those workshops included: Healthy Lifestyle Choices, The Importance of being an Intern,Career Journey and Artistic Expression through Civic Service."  Martha Mendoza, S@CH Returning Youth, The Incredibles
