JUNIOR GIANTS (SUMMER)
PROGRAM SUMMARY
Youth Development based, non-competitive baseball/softball program open to all youth, ages 5-18. Players will receive all necessary equipment to play; baseball hat, t-shirt & glove (if needed). Junior Giants baseball/softball is a non-competitive baseball program and rules are loose and geared towards beginners. Score is not kept, games are self-officiated, and the program centers around player success rather than the final score.

PROGRAM DATES:
June 13, 2023 thru August 5, 2023
DAYS
Each team will have one scheduled practice during the week and one game on Saturday morning. Both games and practices will be played at chosen league location. Practice days and times are determined according to division participant is in:
- T-Ball practices on Tuesdays from 5p-6:30p & games on Saturday, time TBD
- Minors Baseball practices on Wednesdays from 5p-6:30p & games on Saturday, time TBD
- Majors Baseball practices on Thursdays from 5p-6:30p & games on Saturday, time TBD
- Seniors Baseball practices on Thursdays from 5p-6:30p & games on Saturday, time TBD
- Minors & Majors Softball practices on Fridays from 5p-6:30p & games on Saturday, time TBD
GAME/PRACTICE LOCATIONS
William Land Park, George Sim Park, and Robla Park. Practices will take place at chosen league location. All games will be played at William Land Park.
FIRST PITCH MEETING
May 31, 2023; 10am-11am | June 1st , 2022; 4pm-5pm
Meetings will be conducted virtually this year, links will be sent to registered families a week prior to each meeting. Meetings are mandatory for all players, parents/guardians. Attendees will learn more about the Junior Giants program and what to expect in regards to 2023 summer season.
COACH CLINIC & VOLUNTEER MEETING
June 3, 2023; 9am-11am @ George Sim Park, Matt Cain Field
We will conduct a coach clinic and volunteer meeting that will give volun, teer coaches and team parents a chance to run through some skill drills and get support on best practices for having a successful season. We’ll have Junior Giants coaches from previous seasons out there as well as some “baseball experts” that will provide a great foundation before stepping on the field with players.
SEASON OPENING PLAY BALL CLINIC
June 10, 2023; 9am-11am @ William Land Park
To open our 2023 Junior Giants season, we’re hosting a MLB play ball clinic where players will be taken through a series of skill development stations to help them get ready to go for the season. Practices begin the following week.

FLAG FOOTBALL (FALL)

PROGRAM SUMMARY
Youth Development based instructional league geared towards all youth in 4th-8th grade. Players will learn the fundamental skills and strategies of flag football through both practice and game play. Practices will be held 2 days per week and games will be on Saturdays. For more information, please contact the Youth Sports Coordinator, Scott Jensen: sjensen@cityofsacramento.org.

Registration Opens July 25, 2023. Each location is limited to 14 players per team. Players will be added to a waitlist once the team is full.

JR. NBA BASKETBALL (WINTER)


Program summary
