The Program Coordinator at Hollywood Park 4th “R” is Holli Brown.  Holli began her career with the 4th “R” Program back in August of 1988.  She has held all 4   positions.  Holli has been the P. C. here at Hollywood Park since 1998.  She has had the opportunity to watch so many children develop and grow into adults.  She has also had the pleasure to hire staff who were once children in the program that she once played with.  Needless to say she loves her job!  In her spare time and weather permitting she loves to turn up the music and head out of town with her family for some adventurous fun.

The Program Developer is Meadette Rothermel.  Meadette has been with the 4th “R” Program since 1989.  She has held the position of a Recreation Aid, Out of Class Recreation aid and Program Developer.  She came to Hollywood Park 4th “R” in September of 2005. She has a unique personality that allows her to be able to see things in a way that is different than most.  Her ability to incorporate fun in everything she does makes her a lot of fun.  In her spare time she likes a little R&R.

Experience and Training of the Staff
There are 4 different classifications of jobs at a 4th “R” site.

The Program Coordinator oversees the site in its entirety.  They assure State Licensing rules are being followed. They take care of the registration process, the billings and fee processing.  They interview, hire and train qualified applicants and evaluate their job performances.  They supply the staff with training opportunities to enhance their skills as a quality recreation aid.  They assure all who are in the program are adhering to the rules of the program and striving towards positive growth.  The Program Coordinator attends 3 meetings a month in which they receive valuable information on the program, new procedures and requirements.

The Program Developer is responsible for planning the activities at the site, assigning the staff to their daily responsibilities, ordering all the supplies necessary to be able to carry out the daily activities and maintenance, assisting with the hiring and training of new staff, assisting the Program Coordinator as needed and is the next in charge when the Program Coordinator is unavailable.  The Program Developer attends 2 meetings a month that introduces new ideas to the program to assure a quality program. They are always open for suggestions so please feel free to share any ideas you may have.

The out of class qualified recreation aide has the same responsibilities of a Recreation Aid but also has the qualifications necessary to supervise the center during the absence of the Program Coordinator or the Program Developer.

The Recreation Aids are the heart and soul of our program.  They are the staff who work directly with the children implementing the games and activities that have been scheduled and assisting the children with all their daily needs.  They assist the Program Coordinator and Program Developer as needed and assist with training new staff.

The Out of Class Recreation Aid, Program Developer and the Program Coordinator requirements are:  at least 12 units in Early Childhood Education, INFANT, CHILD and ADULT CPR, FIRST AID & INFECTIOUS DIEASE certified.
ALL STAFF are required to be 18 years old, pass a finger printing and background check, and have a negative TB test and a physical examination stating their mental and physical state of being.
