represents the only community park in this region of the City.
Its finally here. Weve been waiting
a long, long time for our community park and everyone is overjoyed,
said District 2 Councilmember Sandy Sheedy. Our community has been
anxiously awaiting the opening of the park and to enjoy the amenities
that this park has to offer us. Phase one construction of the park
began exactly one-year ago.
The first phase of Robla Community Park construction
includes a baseball field, soccer fields, children's playground, group
picnic area, automatic irrigation system, landscape and turf planting,
concrete walkways, street frontage and sidewalk improvements, and 40-car
parking lot. Construction costs for the first phase of Robla Community
Park were approximately $1.4 million. In addition, the State of California
provided the City of Sacramento with a $143,000 grant towards the cost
of the park development.
Future phases of the parks development will include
additional childrens play areas, wetland area, neighborhood activity
center, basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court, jogging trail,
fitness station, and a concession building.
