O’Jays Headline The 10th Annual Meadowview Jazz and Cultural Festival – Saturday, June 28thAdvance Tickets Now on Sale

Locations: City Hall, 730 I Street, 1st Floor, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; or the Pannell Meadowview Community Center, 2450 Meadowview Road, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Sacramento, California, June 3, 2003 – Tickets are now being sold for the 10th Annual Meadowview Jazz and Cultural Festival. This year’s featured performers are the O’Jays, known worldwide for their pop and R and B songs of the 60’s and 70’s. Other performers include Ray Obiedo and Funkradio, Carol J. Toca, Guitar Mac and His Blues Express, B-Smoove, Taal Band and Dai Rene’e. The festival will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2003, gates open at 1 p.m. and the music begins at 2 p.m. There’s plenty for the entire family, including food booths, cultural displays and kid’s activities throughout the day, with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

Advance ticket sales are now on sale: $10 per person and children 12 and under are free; tickets at the gate are $15, and parking is $3. Advance tickets may be purchased at City Hall, 730 I Street, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; or the Pannell Meadowview Community Center, 2450 Meadowview Road, 9 a.m. - 4:30 pm., Monday through Friday. All proceeds benefit the community. This is a drug and alcohol free event. The concert will be held at Meadowview Community Park located at 7760 24th Street.

The 10th Annual Meadowview Jazz and Cultural Festival is sponsored by Mayor Heather Fargo and Councilmember Bonnie Pannell, as well as numerous community businesses and organizations, including Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of America, Coca Cola – Sacramento, Comcast, Embassy Suites, Harman Management Co. (KFC), JTS Communities, Nehemiah Corp. New Faze Development, Opus West and The Sacramento Bee.
