Main Office of Department of Parks
and Recreation Moves to New City Hall
Sacramento, California, July 20, 2005 –
The main office of the Department of Parks and Recreation is relocating
to the new City Hall located at 915 I Street. The main office will be
closed the afternoon of Thursday, July 21st and all day on Friday, July
22nd. The office will resume normal business operation on Monday, July
25th.
The following departmental offices will be located at
the new City Hall: Office of the Director; Park Planning, Design and Development;
Administrative Services; and the management of Marketing and Special Event
Services. The address and general telephone number for the Department
of Parks and Recreation is 915 I Street, 5th Floor, Sacramento, California,
95814, (916) 808-5200.
With more than 2,000 staff members during peak summer
season, and a budget of almost $45 million per year, the Department of
Parks and Recreation oversees an extensive system of services and facilities.
The Department maintains more than 3,000 acres of developed parkland;
manages more than 190 park, recreation and bikeway projects; operates
over 20 aquatic facilities and 18 community centers with numerous programs,
rental uses and leisure enrichment classes; and provides recreation and
human services programs that serve the region and enrich people’s
lives at all ages.
