World Class Artists and Local Talents to showcase their
Works at 2nd Annual Day of Art & Socialization: Saturday,
October 14, 2006
Sacramento, California, October 9, 2006—The
Hart Multipurpose Senior Center will host an eclectic art show featuring
the works of world renowned artists who wish to provide inspiration to
seniors. The art show, which is titled, A Day of Art and Socialization,
is like no other because it showcases the works of the Center’s
talented seniors, up-and-coming local artists, and world renowned artists.
The Hart Senior Center is a vital resource for seniors.
Each day approximately 200 older adults visit the Center to access fitness
& computer trainings, informational seminars, and free nutritious
lunches. These programs and services address seniors’ physical,
emotional, and mental needs. In addition, the programs and services make
it possible for caretakers to have much needed time for respite.
Featured artists include:
Stanley Mouse—best known for covers
for the Grateful Dead, and posters for the Fillmore and Avalon Ballrooms.
Lee Brooks—has designed jewelry
for Oscar de la Renta; appeared on the pages of Vogue; and created fantasy
jewelry for a collection at the Dali Museum in Spain.
Bill Weber (a.k.a. El Gallo)—noted
for his murals, the most prominent being the famous Jazz Mural at Broadway
and Columbus, in San Francisco.
Jason Griego—has had several sculptures
commissioned throughout the Bay Area. His sculptural works are created
in bronze, resin, plaster, and stone.
Joe Cleary—sculptor and painter,
featured in magazines such as the Saturday Evening Post and Ladies Home
Journal; and has sculptures in New Orleans, Japan, and Australia.
A Day of Art & Socialization will take place on Saturday,
October 14, 2006. Opening remarks are scheduled
to be delivered at 11a.m. The public is welcome to view
the exhibits between the hours of 11a.m. and 8p.m. The
Hart Senior Center is located at 915 27th Street, Sacramento.
