5th ANNUAL DOGGY DIP DAY at Pannell-Meadowview Swimming Pool: October
28, 2006
Sacramento, California, October 17, 2006
— According to the most up-to-date estimates, there are approximately
168,000 dog owning households in the City of Sacramento. The Sacramento
Department of Parks and Recreation has a long history of providing facilities,
programs, and services that enhance the quality of life for all its residents,
including its pet population. With respect to dogs, the Department currently
has three off-leash dog parks at Granite Park, Partner Park, and Bannon
Creek Park. It also plans to develop four additional dog parks across
the City.
On Saturday, October 28th, the Department
invites you and your dog(s) to participate in the 5th ANNUAL DOGGY
DIP DAY at Pannell-Meadowview Swimming Pool.
The pool has a zero-entry walk-in at the shallow end so dogs can enter
and exit the water easily. Dog owners will be allowed to stand in the
shallow end but not swim with their dog(s).
Lifeguards will be on duty to rescue dogs who forget
how to “dog-paddle” or get cramps after not waiting 30 minutes
after eating to enter the pool. There is a $3 admission fee per dog.
