The Hart Advisory Committee is made up of 13 volunteers who help ensure that the Senior Center meets its mission of “providing an environment which welcomes older adults, supports their independence, and affirms their dignity.”
The committee meets every other month on the 3rd Thursday at 2pm to discuss programs offered and facility usage issues. Members of the committee represent the various categories of programs offered at Hart Senior Center: Clubs and Groups, Leisure Activities, and Social Services and Health; and in addition, some committee members represent the at-large senior community. Applications for membership on the committee are available year round.

Senior Center Accreditation
Accreditation is the official recognition that a senior center is meeting its mission in a nationally accepted professional fashion. It is based on compliance with nine standards of senior center operations developed by the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC), a unit of National Council On Aging (NCOA). The process is wide-ranging and includes analysis of the center and its policies. There are several benefits to Accreditation, including national recognition, access to funding and overall enhanced operation of the senior center.
If interested in joining the Accreditation Committee, please contact Rosanne Bernardy at (916) 808-1590.
