Art Show
Held in the fall, the Hart Senior Center hosts a festive day-long art show and artists’ reception.  The event is free and the whole community is invited to drop in. Professional artists, senior citizen amateur artists, and youth are asked to show their work, and there is no entry fee.  The annual show began as a project for a graduate student at CSUS in 2004. Senior artists may sign up to be in our art show database.  We are always on the lookout for volunteers to run this show. Volunteer duties include hanging art, seeking donations for the artist reception, promotion, etc.

Friendship Café
SNS (Senior Nutrition Services) serves lunch Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Hart Senior Center. Lunch is served promptly at 11:30 am. There is a suggested donation of $2.00 for people age 60 and over, for those under 60, there is a $5.00 fee per meal. Reservations must be made by 12 pm the day before the lunch or the reservation will be on a “standby” basis. The monthly menu is available at the reception desk.

New to the lunch program? Make your reservation in advance and check in at 11 am to fill-out the simple registration form.

Manitos
Wednesdays, from 9 am to 1 pm. Manitos Club is a social group open to older adults who speak Spanish. The group is conducted entirely in Spanish and features games, songs, exercise, and more. Contact Clara Chapala (916) 361-9026 for more information.

Blind Social
Wednesdays, from 9 am to 1 pm. Blind, low vision, and seeing friends get together for conversation, socialization, and games. Volunteers assist group members as needed. The group either brings their lunch or eats our Senior Nutrition Services meal.

Hearing Impaired Club
Thursdays, 8 am to 2 pm. This group of deaf older adults meets for conversation using American Sign Language, socialization, and games. Visitors are welcome.

Movie Matinee
Join your friends for a free movie at 12:30 pm each Friday of the month. Free. Popcorn included!

Volunteer Recognition Event
Our volunteers are integral to our programs! To celebrate, an annual invitation-only event is held to honor them for supporting us with their time and dedication in different capacities including our class instructors, graphic artists, PowerPoint developers, grant writers, special events volunteers; and much, much more.
