Certificate for Park Use
A Certificate for Park Use is issued for any private gathering with fewer than 200 in attendance that does not involve City services or require special permits. A Certificate for Park Use is required for any activity with 50 or more people and/or in which assembly is intended to last more than 30 minutes. Applications for Park Use must be submitted 10 days prior to the proposed activity.
Park Event Permit
A Park Event Permit is issued for any activity with 200 or more in attendance and/or is open to the public. A Park Event Permit is required for any activity that calls for special permits. Special permits are required for the following: Alcohol Consumption/Sales, Commercial Activity, Fundraising, Amplified Sound, and Filming. Applications for Park Use that will require a Park Event Permit must be submitted 45 days prior to the proposed activity.
Athletic Field Permit
Athletic Field Permits are designed for the occasional or drop in sports field user. Reservations are taken monthly and may be submitted five (5) business days before the first of the month. The City of Sacramento, Department of Parks and Recreation offers more than 100 athletic fields for a wide variety of uses including: lacrosse, rugby, tennis, baseball, softball, soccer, football, ultimate Frisbee, kickball, and more.
Long Term Athletic Field Permit
Applications for Long Term Athletic Field Permits are issued for year round youth play and adult games or tournaments. Applications for Long Term Athletic Field Use must be submitted annually. Applications are due the second Friday of September for athletic field use during the following calendar year.
Indoor Facility Use Permits
Having a party or need an affordable place to hold a meeting or an event? No matter the occasion, the City of Sacramento, Department of Parks and Recreation has the solution for you. With over 15 recreation centers, we’re sure to have the perfect rental for you. Information in the Indoor Facility Reservation Packet will assist you in submitting your form to reserve a City recreation center.
Neighborhood Block Party Permit
A Neighborhood Block Party is intended to provide neighbors a unique opportunity to gather and create a network of friends rather than mere acquaintances. Neighborhood Block Parties are intended for residents only, not the general public. Neighborhood block parties may not be advertised outside of the affected area. A petition signed by 80% of affected residents is required as part of the Neighborhood Block Party Application process.
Special Event Permit A Special Event Permit is issued for any activity conducted in or upon public property to include, but not limited to, streets, highways or parks of the City which involves the use of any City services that would not be necessary in the absence of such an activity.
Swimming Pool and Play Pool Rentals
Are you looking for a great place to hold your summer party that is cool and refreshing? Rent a swimming pool or play pool! Any municipal pool can be rented for private use when it is not programmed by the Department of Parks and Recreation. Minimum rental is two hours and includes lifeguard staff. All rentals must be made 14 days prior to the event and must be made in person at the Coloma Community Center. All fees (including deposit of $150-$300) are due at the time the reservation is made.
