Pioneer Landing Master Plan

End of R Street pedestrian and bicycle bridge (over I-5),
between Front Street and the Docks Area Riverfront Promenade

Pioneer Landing is a 0.4-acre park which represents the Gold Rush when immigrants from around the world landed by boat in Sacramento and camped along the river bank. Also, Pioneer Box Company was located in the Docks area near the park site. Pioneer Park will be open to the public the first week of May and includes:  

  • Plaza
  • Walkways
  • Turf
  • Landscaped Area with Large Shade Trees
  • Raised "Ship Hull" Planters
  • Benches
  • Drinking Fountain
  • "Art in Public Places" Shade Structure with LED lights and push button activated mister for summer cooling.
