ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE RAILYARDS TO RICHARDS BOULEVARD & I-5 INTERCHANGE PROJECT
Figure 1- Completed Project
The project widened Richard Boulevard within the interchange, widened the off ramps, reconstructed existing portions of Jibboom Street and reconstructed Bercut Drive.
This project provides interim traffic relief at the I-5/Richards interchange and serves the early phase redevelopment efforts including Township Nine and those in the Railyards. It will reduce ramp queuing and mainline impacts at both the on and off ramps. The project will also provide for alternative modes of transportation, such as mass transit, biking, and pedestrian by constructing bus stops, bike lanes and pedestrian pathways.
Costs and Funding
The total project cost was $10 million. Funding is provided by local transportation, state, and federal funds.
This project was completed in October 2013.
