SACRAMENTO CITY COLLEGE PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE BRIDGE PROJECT
Figure 1 - Completed Project
The project constructed a tied arch bridge structure across Union Pacific Railroad Tracks and a precast cored slab bridge structure across the Sacramento Light Rail Station to connect Sacramento City College with Curtis Park Village. The project also included ramps, stairs, lighting, underground utilities, landscaping and irrigation facilities.
The new bridge improved safety for pedestrians and bicyclists by spanning the Light Rail and UPRR tracks adjacent to Sacramento City College, connecting the City College on the west side of the tracks and the future Curtis Park Village development on the east side.
Costs and Funding
Total project cost was approximately $11.5 million. The project was funded through the Proposition 1B funds, Federal Transportation Enhancement funds and local transportation funds.
Construction was completed in Spring of 2016.
