Water Conservation - schedules for residential and commercial water customers

DOU 1 day per week watering starts November 6

water just one weekend day per week - from november 6, 2016 to march 12, 2017

Doing your part is easy:

  1. When you change your clock on November 6, remember to also change your sprinkler timer.

  2. Select either Saturday or Sunday for your watering day. No weekday watering is permitted through March 12 2017.

Remember to water with the weather! If rain is in the forecast, be sure to turn-off sprinklers for at least one week or even leaving them off this fall and winter.

Customers with recently retrofitted or installed water meters after 90 days are now eligible to sign up and access My Water. Create your account and begin viewing your water usage. Look for ways to conserve and make informed decisions about water efficiency in your home.

Drought Busters

If you see watering taking place on the wrong day or time or you see over-watering, please report it to the City by calling 311 or (916) 264-5011. You can also email when and where you saw the water misuse to 311@cityofsacramento.org or report it via the 311 app on your mobile phone.

You can spruce up your lawn with our new lawn sign telling your neighbors that you are doing your part to help spare Sacramento's water! Pick up a sign today at our Customer Service Offices, 1395 35th Avenue. Hours are Monday- Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. -11:30 a.m.

Free Water Conservation Materials Available to Businesses 

California is experiencing an historic drought, and the State Water Resources Control Board has enacted emergency regulations, including requiring restaurants to serve water upon request and hotels to offer guests the option to reuse towels and linens for multi-day stays.
