Sacramento Disabilities Advisory Commission

The Disabilities Advisory Commission (DAC) is a nine member group established to provide advice and recommendations to the mayor and city council on strategies to enhance the city's compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, and Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations. The group was formed in 2001 and strives to increase local awareness of the challenges faced by people living with disabilities, and works to develop solutions to problems of accessibility in the community.

Members of the Commission have a personal interest in accessibility issues. Many have disabilities themselves or are family members of those with disabilities. Others work in agencies that help people with disabilities, or have experience with disability law.

The DAC holds public meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Meetings are located at the new City Hall, 915-I StreetNew Window, Sacramento, California, 95814. Requests for alternate formats or other auxiliary aides, and other accommodations should be made through the City's ADA office at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
