Judges/Volunteers

Why History Day?
Judges and volunteers are needed at all levels of History Day competition. Judges - historians, educators, and others interested in participating - evaluate the students’ entries and provide both the positive and the constructive feedback that is essential to the learning process. Volunteers are critical to maintaining a smoothly running event. They help with registration, room monitoring, and other assorted duties.

Judge Handbook and Guidelines
Judges are responsible for knowing the rules and criteria for evaluating each entry.  Please review the following information:

2011 National History Day – California Rulebook (pdf)

Volunteer to be a Judge
To participate in the 2012 Sacramento County History Day as a judge, send a completed Judge Registration Form to SCHD.  These registrations should be postmarked by Friday, February 17, 2012.
