CSH staff members are available to make presentations to community groups. The presentations run between 15 and 45 minutes, and incorporate an accompanying PowerPoint slideshow and handouts. Presentation subjects include: how to preserve family records and photographs; how to conduct historical research at the Center; what historical and genealogical resources are available at the Center; and various Sacramento history topics. Staff has made presentations to historical and genealogical societies, civic and fraternal organizations, business and professional groups, educators and their students. An honorarium for each presentation is required.
CSH staff members are also available to host a table at a limited number of community events. In the past, the Center has participated in the S.O.C.A. Home Tour, Family History Day, California State Archives Open House, and Gold Rush Days in Old Sacramento.
Please contact the Senior Archivist if you are interested in having the Center present or host a table at your next community event.
