Sutter, Jr., whose father built Sutter's Fort; William Stephen Hamilton, son of the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton; Newton Booth, California's 11th Governor; Margaret Crocker and Mark Hopkins, one of the builders of the transcontinental railroad.
