Sign Permits
A sign permit is required to post a sign on or near a business. Signs are subject to various codes and ordinances, including, but not limited to:
- Sacramento City Building Code, Chapter 15.148
- Historic Preservation Districts
- Design Review Districts
- Planned Unit Development Guidelines (PUDs)
How to Check on a Sign
Since the requirements for a sign depend heavily on where specifically the sign is to be placed, the Development Services Department has created a team to research the related issues. They are available at:
- Phone: (916) 808-0990
- Email: signs@cityofsacramento.org
