What is the DOC?
The commission members of the City of Sacramento Development Oversight Commission (DOC), is a group of building industry representatives and members of the public appointed by Mayor Heather Fargo and approved by City Council.
What is the purpose of the DOC?
To assure follow through of recommendations from Mayor Serna's Commission on Development that were approved by the City Council on July 20, 1999.
To provide a forum that enables the public and city staff to introduce and to discuss suggestions, comments, and concerns regarding the procedures and processes of the city's development services function.
Do you have input about improvements to the City of Sacramento development system?
In an effort to streamline the city's development system, the Development Oversight Commission (DOC) provides a public forum to discuss suggestions, comments and concerns regarding the procedures and processes of the city's development services function. The commission will recommend changes to streamline the process of developing and building in Sacramento. The DOC will host public meetings to hear public comments before providing its recommendations to council.
The commission views industry and public involvement as vital to its success, recognizing that many stakeholders will benefit from a more customer-friendly permit process.
