Preservation Director Hearings are on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. Meetings are held from 3:00 - 5:00, and may go later.
About the Hearings
The Preservation Director is the Secretary to the Preservation Commission. The Director's responsibilities are:
- Oversees the operation of the city's historic preservation program and staff in the identification, protection and assistance in the preservation of Sacramento's Historic Resources.
- Advises the city and its various entities and staff on historic preservation issues, including rehabilitation standards and historic resources surveys.
- Is responsibile for preliminary determinations as to a property's eligibility for listing in the Sacramento Register of Historic and Cultural Resources.
- Maintains the Sacramento Register.
- Follows the responsibilities outlined in the Historic Preservation Chapter of the City Code, Title 17, Chapter 17.134.
