City Sponsored Infill House Plan Program

The City of Sacramento Infill House Plan Program was developed to streamline the process for development of high quality single family homes in the City's older neighborhoods and redevelopment areas. The homes were designed to suit the character and style of the City's older neighborhoods. Under this program, users can purchase plans that are pre-approved through the City's design review and building plan check review process, saving time and money.

The program was developed to facilitate the development of the large number of vacant lots within many of the City’s older neighborhoods. The homes were designed with neighborhood input, and meet or exceed the City’s design standards. There are currently two pre-approved floor plans that can fit the most common sized lots in the targeted neighborhoods. Each plan has three variations (elevations) to ensure variety and choice. The plans have three bedrooms, ranging from 1,400 to 1,670 square feet.

The program may be expanded in the future to include additional plans or plans for different lot sizes or types of development. In addition, private developers may also request that their plans be pre-approved for repeated use. All plans are approved by the City’s Design Commission and Preservation Commission.

*Please note: Due to changes in the building code and reduced City resources, only the Piches plans have been updated to comply with the new 2008 Building Code. The City hopes to have the Easton plan available in the near future.
