The City Council approved Railyards project by unanimous vote on December 11, 2007.

About the Plan

The City's Railyards project has garnered significant national attention.  Most recently a national panel of experts brought to Sacramento in January 2011 by the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Daniel Rose Center for Public Leadership in Land Use recently confirmed that the 240‐acre downtown Sacramento Railyards development site has significant long-term development potential, and that it presents an exciting and unique opportunity for the City to become a more attractive urban destination.
