City Of Sacramento Development-Related Boards and
Commissions to Hold Special Combined Meeting
Who: Mayor Heather Fargo, Councilmembers Ray Tretheway and Rob Fong and the City of Sacramento Development Services Department encourage Sacramento residents and businesses to help in the updating of Sacramento’s Downtown Urban Design Plan, which will guide future downtown development and help achieve the City Council’s vision for Sacramento to become the most livable city in America.
What: Sacramento residents and businesses are invited to attend a community workshop to provide input about how downtown should be developed into the future and help the Development Services Department determine what makes a livable downtown.
When: Monday, December 11
6 to 6:30 p.m. – refreshments
6:30 to 8:30 p.m. – workshop
Where: New City Hall lobby, 915 I Street (located at 10th and I streets)
Why: The first Urban Design Plan for the Central Business District (downtown) was initially adopted in 1987 and did not consider many factors facing downtown today, such as the potential to become an urban neighborhood or the need to grow in a sustainable manner. As part of the plan update, the Development Services Department will use the public’s input to determine how future downtown development should take place.
