What is MATRIX?
MATRIX is a new approach to the development process based upon development type or product. Each team is made up of City staff vital to the development of a project, from conception to completion, with a timely, seamless, and predictable development review process. The overall goal of MATRIX is to “Get the Customer to Success.”
What is the geographic area for the MATRIX program?
The MATRIX program is citywide.
Is MATRIX efficient?
Efficiency is one of the MATRIX goals. More time is spent up front on the project with staff members communicating with applicants. This allows the middle and the end of the development process to go smoother and faster for both the applicant, staff and community.
How will the previous development processes adapt to MATRIX?
Many of the process and procedures that existed before MATRIX was implement are still used within the MATRIX Business Model. As MATRIX further develops in response to situations and conditions, the current process and the MATRIX procedures will be changed. The existing process, however, will test and implement the positive changes produced through the Process Czar and SWAT programs.
How does the City measure the success of MATRIX?
In a customer orientated business, the greatest level of measurement for success is customer satisfaction. To measure overall success of a predictable, timely, clear, seamless process the City will implement customer satisfaction surveys, focus groups, and measure if benchmark goal dates are being met.
