Workforce Development
Economic Development works with a number of agencies that have the goal of developing a community with the requisite skills for the region’s business community.
Linking Education and Economic Development (LEED) helps in developing partnerships among business, labor, education, community, and government in order to strengthen workforce development, ensure economic prosperity, and enhance the academic performance of students.
Sacramento Employment and Training Agency (SETA) is effective in connecting people to jobs and business owners to quality employees. SETA helps with employment and training, and providing materials and research through the Business Information centers.
Sacramento Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides group training, business workshops and personal one-to-one consulting. Business counseling provided by the SBDC is subsidized through federal and state grants for economic development of the region and is offered at no-cost to the business owner.
