1. "B" Street Theatre/Children's Theatre of Sacramento
Sutter Medical, "B" Street Theatre, Theatre for Children, Inc. (TCI), and the City of Sacramento are working together to bring a state-of-the-art, live performance theatre complex to downtown Sacramento. Three theatres (approximately 400 seats, 200 seats, and 100 seats) will be built as part of the Sutter Medical Campus expansion at the southeast corner of Capitol and 27th Streets. The "B" Street Theatre will relocate and expand to the new location. The Children's Theatre project will have a strong bond with Sutter's new Women's and Children's Center, providing young patients a creative and healing environment. The project is modeled on other unique programs from around the country and will be the first of its kind in California. TCI has embarked on an aggressive fund-raising campaign for the complex. The City of Sacramento can potentially assist in financing through the issuance of tax exempt bonds, providing planning entitlement and building permit assistance, and participating in the development and/operation of the planned parking.

2. Sacramento Theater Company/Facility (14th & H Streets)
The H Street Theater Project, a public private partnership funded by the California Musical Theatre, Sacramento Theatre Company, and the City and County of Sacramento, is almost complete! In August of 2002, the City and County jointly issued bonds to pay for the renovation of the H Street Theater site, including a brand new venue for Sacramento's Music Circus productions and substantial renovations to the Sacramento Theatre Company's stage. The Music Circus "tent" is 99% complete, with all of this season's shows taking place in the new permanent structure. The entire project is expected to finish by October of this year, ensuring Sacramento Theatre Company patrons will have new seats, an expanded subscriber's lobby, and generally more creature comforts. To date, the project remains on time and under budget.

3. Lot X/Crocker Art Museum Area
Lot X is a 62,000 square foot, triangular-shaped parcel bounded by Capitol Mall on the north, N St. on the south, 3rd St. on the east and the I-5 Freeway on the west, and is jointly owned by the City and Crocker Art Museum. The State owns a 30,000 square foot parcel, directly east of the roadway which bisects the block. Development of the site will proceed under an agreement between the City and the Crocker Board. City discussions have focused on development of the site and structuring a long-term lease with the eventual lessor to generate a revenue stream which could be used to fund an endowment for the Crocker Art Museum.

4. Del Paso Boulevard
Del Paso, a thriving business district 35 years ago, has been experiencing a revival as art galleries and cafes move in. Projects include an Artisan Square which has been rehabilitated into 11, one-bedroom units with separate artist studios. A trend has been started along the Boulevard, where artists, galleries, business leaders and art aficionados are setting up shop and perking up the North Sacramento strip with music, theater and art.
