The Richards Boulevard Redevelopment Project Area covers over 1,365 acres immediately adjacent to the heart of Downtown Sacramento, stretching from the Sacramento River on the west, the American River on the north, Sutter's Landing Regional Park on the east, and the Union Pacific mainline rail tracks and I Street on the south.

Over the past 14 years the Redevelopment Agency and City have invested over $100 million in Federal and local public dollars within the project area. Please see the map above for listings of specific projects recently completed, currently underway, or planned for implementation in the near future.

THE RIVER DISTRICT
Formed in 1997, The River District (formerly Capitol Station District) is a private, non-profit business association that represents business and property owners in the Richards Boulevard Redevelopment Area. In 1999, The River District formed a property-based improvement district that funds economic development, "clean and safe" efforts and transportation advocacy.
