In the spirit of giving, the City of Sacramento Animal Care Services is kicking
off a pet food bank. Named after the shelter's resident cat, Titanic's Pantry will
provide food and supplies to companion animals in our community. The shelter is
requesting donations from individuals and businesses to keep this program on-going.
The goal of the food bank is to keep people and their pets together by
providing food and supplies. The shelter strives to be a resource for individuals
and families who are not able to afford food for their companion animals. It is
preferred that the food bank recipient's pet(s) is altered, vaccinated, and
licensed. For those pets that are not, the shelter will provide a list of resources to do so.
The food bank is open Tuesday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Reception Building.
The shelter is closed on Sunday and Monday. In addition, other locations where pet food can be obtained are the County of Sacramento Animal Care and Regulation (3839 Bradshaw Road) and the Sacramento SPCA (6201 Florin-Perkins Road).
