Project Descriptions:

North Natomas Library
Design & Construction of a 23,000sf library. The library is a joint use facility that is shared with Natomas High School and the Los Rios Community College. The Architects for the project are Nacht & Lewis.

This $15 million project by WLC Architects will begin construction in mid year 2008 with a completion date for approximately April/May 2010.

Valley Hi-North Laguna Library
This project will be the construction of a freestanding 20,000sf library in Shasta Park at Bruceville Road and Shasta Lane across from Cosumnes River College. 
This future branch library will feature such amenities as a browsing area with newly released books, CDs, and DVDs, separate children and teen reading areas, public computers with Internet and word processing, two study/tutoring rooms and special “quiet” reading rooms, a new automated process for self-checkout of library books and other materials. 
There will also be a community meeting room that can accommodate up to 100 people and a food court for refreshments and socializing.

Oak Park Community Center Phase II
This $6 million project will begin construction in April 2008 with an estimated completion date of December 2008. The Architect for the project is Kurt Fehlberg with The Dahlin Group.

George Sim Community Center Expansion
The first of three phases incorporates the design and construction of a 10,500sf addition to the existing George Sim Community Center. 
Phase 1 work expands the existing community center by providing additional space to accommodate four additional service programs to meet the programming demands offered to local residents.  This project will begin construction in March 2008 with an estimated completion to be in May 2009.
Architects for the project are Field Paoli Architects and the Contractor is Brown Construction.

Crocker Art Museum Expansion
This new 123,000sf construction will begin construction in January 2008 and will triple the existing museum’s size.  Expansion of the existing museum will promote the arts in Sacramento, while elevating Sacramento as a destination City and fueling economic vitality.  The addition will also be a powerful force in redefining the Sacramento riverfront and the City’s downtown core. 
This $84 million project will be working with architects from Gwathmey Siegal & Associates. 

The General Contractor is Rudolf & Sletten.  The grand opening of this project will be in Summer 2010.

South Natomas Community Center Concession
This project will begin construction April 2008 and is on schedule to be completed September 2008.  The Architects for this project are Freitas Associates, Inc.

Fire Station No. 56 ADA Restroom Upgrade
This project will be the construction of a new ADA compliant restroom in Fire Station #56.  The addition of this restroom will provide separate restroom facilities designated for men and women.

Studios for the Performing Arts
This 4,900sf facility will house The Sacramento Ballet, Film Harmonic, California Opera and California Music Theatre.  A four story building, it will include rehearsal studios and office space for all four organizations.

Cattery Project at Animal Care Facility
This 4,500sf construction of a new cattery building will be within the existing Animal Care complex.  This project will provide public viewing and display, as well as areas for public interaction, education and training.  It will help reduce pet overpopulation by providing adequate facilities for animals.  Construction began September 2007 and should be completed June 2008.  The Architects for this project are Takata, Sugioka, Kimura, and the Contractors are Advantage Building Contractors.

Capitol Parking Garage Exiting Lanes and Booth Replacement
This project will replace the four existing parking toll booths with a new automated exit control system that will include new exit lanes and one new attendant occupied toll booth.

Memorial Auditorium Lighting/Landscaping
The project will replace landscaping and incorporate a lighting design that will showcase the Memorial Auditorium’s grandeur, with an addition of moderate pedestrian and visitor enhancements.  The General Contractor for this project is Unger Construction with completion to be in May 2008.
