May 24 - Apply for the WIOA In-School Youth Program! It’s that time of the year again! The Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center (The Center), in collaboration with Sacramento Employment & Training Agency (SETA), focuses on serving in-school youth and other youth between the ages of 14-21 that meet one or more conditions: low income and/or receives free or reduced lunch, basic skills deficient, English language learner, an offender, homeless, runaway, in foster care or aged out of the foster care system, pregnant or parenting, an individual with a disability, person who requires additional assistance to enter or complete an educational program or to secure and hold employment. The Center is currently looking to fill 40 spots at the Franklin Career Center and 40 spots at the Hillsdale Career Center, for the 2016-2017 WIOA In-School Youth Program. In order to apply, you MUST be: a senior in high school (Class of 2017), work permit eligible, committed to a service learning project for 10 weeks, WIOA income eligible, in good academic standing, and facing employment barriers. We offer 120 hours of paid work experience, leadership activities, supportive services, school completion services, and mentor services.
