    Health

    Health - City of Sacramento offers three health insurance plans that include:

    • Kaiser HMO
    • Health Net HMO
    • Health Net PPO

    Additional services through health insurance plans include:

    • Chiropractic
    • Mental Health

    Dental - City of Sacrament offers two dental plans that include:

    • Delta Premier DPO
    • DeltaCare DMO

    Vision

    • Vision Service Plan

    Employee Assistance Program – counseling and other services for employees and their families

    Retirement, Disability and Insurance

    • Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) – Participation in this retirement plan is mandatory beginning on the first day of employment. The City does participate in Social Security and the required 1.45% Medicare contribution by both the employee and the City.
    • 401(a) Plan – Employees in exempt management and other selected bargaining groups participate in the plan. This is a City/Employee provided contribution
    • Life Insurance Policy – City provides a term life insurance policy at City cost for all employees. Additional Supplemental coverage is available at employee cost.
    • Long-Term Disability – City provides a policy for all exempt management employees.

    The City observes the following paid holidays:

    Vacation Days

    Employees with less than five full years earn eighty hours of vacation each year. Employees with six years and, but less than fifteen full years earn one hundred twenty hours of vacation each year. Employees with fifteen or more years earn one hundred sixty hours of vacation each year.

    Sick Days

    Full-time employee accumulate sick leave credits at the rate of one day per month, four hours per bi-weekly pay period, for a total of twelve days.

    Bereavement Leave

    Employees may receive up to three days of City-paid leave for bereavement based on the death of the employee's spouse, parent, sibling, child, grandchild or grandparent.

    Longevity Pay

    Employees completing twenty years of service, receive yearly thereafter a lump sum of $100. Employees completing twenty-five years of service, receive yearly thereafter a lump sum of $200.

    Tuition Reimbursement

    $1,500 maximum per calendar year for the cost of tuition, books, and fees, excluding parking.
