Quickstart to the CIP Map
The Capital Investment Projects (CIP) interactive map is simple to use. We suggest
printing these directions before you begin so you can easily reference it.
- Enter the site via this URL:
http://gis.cityofsacramento.org/cipdisclaim.htm
- Read the agreement, and click the "Agree" button.
- The site may take a moment to load, depending on how many people are accessing the site at the same
time as you.
- Note the left-hand bar on the screen, currently with "Zoom In" highlighted. Click the action you wish to
take before clicking within the map. For example, if you'd like to zoom in on a part of the map, select
"Zoom In", then draw a rectangle around the part you wish to see more closely. Here's a description of the
other functions:
- Zoom Out: Pull back from the map one level, centering around the part of the map you clicked.
- Pan: Make the point you click on the map the new center of what is displayed.
- Previous View: Go back to what you were just looking at before the last click on the map.
- Zoom To Full City: Zoom back to the whole city map.
- Identify: Display information about the dot or area you click.
- Map Layers: Brings up in the right-hand column the map layers you can select or remove from the map.
- Map Legend: Brings up in the right-hand column the map legend.
- Reports: Brings up the appropriate report in a separate window.
- If you run into any problems, click reload to start over.
Also note the tabs across the top of the screen. These change the map to display the information related only
to that department.
