Gifts to Share, Inc.

Gifts to Share, Inc.  is a 501(c) 3 charitable nonprofit organization supporting the City of Sacramento’s park, recreation, cultural, educational, and neighborhood improvement programs and facilities and those of its partners.

The nonprofit is a model partnership joining a charitable nonprofit organization with the City of Sacramento, donors, and the community.  Gifts to Share enables the City of Sacramento, schools, community organizations, and volunteers to plan and raise support for a wide variety of park improvement projects, recreation, education, human service and cultural programs, and neighborhood revitalization efforts.

Key services include: 

  • Fiscal Sponsorship:   Gifts to Share, Inc.  financially manages or “sponsors” civic projects and programs on behalf of non-exempt organizations, community groups, and volunteers who need to raise funds to achieve their goals.  As one of several charitable, nonprofit partners to the City of Sacramento, Gifts to Share, Inc. accepts contributions from the private and nonprofit sectors as needed in support of City-sponsored projects and programs. 
  • Start-Up Grants:   On a quarterly basis, Gifts to Share, Inc. awards seed money grants  up to $800 to individuals and groups who have a project or program idea that fits the purposes of Gifts to Share, Inc., and need seed money to get started.
  • Fundraising and Project Planning:   Gifts to Share, Inc. provides planning services to project leaders to help them develop action plans to secure volunteer support and/or funding.  Project leaders can be community volunteers, neighborhood-based organizations, school staff, and/or City staff. 
  • Training:   Gifts to Share, Inc.  provide for training in how to raise funds and secure and maintain volunteer support.
