14th Annual Gospel Music Concert

Saturday, August 3, 2002, Noon – 6 p.m.


Sacramento, California, July 19, 2002 – The 14th Annual Gospel Music Concert is a spiritually uplifting performance that will provide great GOSPEL MUSIC for the entire family. The event is sponsored by the Del Paso Heights Neighborhood Improvement Association and the Department of Parks and Recreation of the City of Sacramento.

Monica Blanco, one of the coordinators of this year’s event said, “There’s going to be prizes, arts and crafts, food and the greatest BBQ in the world at our concert. So many people from throughout Del Paso Heights and North Sacramento come to the event. We welcome everyone to come on out and enjoy the beautiful music.” The event is FREE to the public.

Several speakers and guests will be in attendance, including Sandy Sheedy, City Councilmember District 2; Steve Cohn, Councilmember District 3; Darrell Steinberg, State Assemblymember District 9; Roger Dickinson, County Supervisor, District 1; and Arturo Venegas, Chief of Police.

Participating organizations include Antioch Progressive Baptist Church, Shiloh Baptist Church, New Testament Baptist Church, Allen Chapel AME, Faith Fellowship Community Church.

The 14th Annual Gospel Music Concert is at Hagginwood Park, 3271 Marysville Blvd, on Saturday, August 3, 2002. It all begins at Noon. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket!
