Stay “Cool in the Pool” this Summer

at City of Sacramento Pools and Community Centers

Sacramento, California, July 8, 2002 – Summer is here and the Department of Parks and Recreation has a solution to staying cool. When the temperature reaches 101 degrees or above, many large pools operated by the Department of Parks and recreation will remain open in the evening, including Cabrillo, Clunie, Doyle, Glenn Hall, Grant High School, Hiram Johnson High School, Johnston, Mangan, McClatchy Park, Oki, Pannell Meadowview, George Sim, Southside, and Tahoe Pool.

For specific pool hours open to the public, please check your local telephone directory and contact the City pool nearest you, or visit the City of Sacramento web site at www.cityofsacramento.org/parksandrecreation.

In addition, during hot weather periods all community centers operated by the Department of Parks and Recreation will provide cooling relief to the public, including Belle Cooledge, Clunie, Coloma, East Portal, Ethel MacLeod Hart, Evelyn Moore, Garden & Arts Center, George Sim, Joe Mims, Johnston, Oak Park, Samuel C. Pannell Meadowview, Robertson, South Natomas, and Woodlake.
