After-School Snack ProgramCONTACT: Murray Levison, Administrative Officer, Sacramento START, 277-6195 Sacramento, California, March 18, 2003 The City of Sacramento, Parks and Recreation Department, announces sponsorship of the At-Risk After-School Snack Program, a component of the Child and Adult Care Food Program. The Child and Adult Care Food Program is a program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the California Department of Education. After-school snacks are available without charge to all children enrolled in after-school programs at the sites listed below. The programs each have their own registration requirements and process. Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact the site director at a specific site, using the phone number on the attached list, for information about the program at that site. In accordance with Federal law and USDA policy, the City of Sacramento, in administering the after-school snack program, is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
