100+ Volunteers From Lowe’s Team Up With City of Sacramento to
Clean North Laguna Creek Park
North Laguna Creek Park, 6400 Jacinto Way,
Starting at 9 a.m.
Sacramento, California, October 14, 2005 – Employees
of the City of Sacramento Department of Parks and Recreation, Sacramento
Fire Department, Lowe’s Home Improvement and community members
will come together tomorrow morning, Saturday, October 15, 2005, to complete
a unique collaborative effort to cleanup and restore North Laguna Creek
Park, located at Center Parkway and Jacinto Way.
More than 100 employees from five local Lowe’s, including stores
in Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, Folsom, Lodi and Roseville will be on-site,
volunteering their time alongside City staff and community members to
make this cleanup possible.
All supplies and materials, including fibar wood chips for the playground,
trees, plants, mulch, grass seed, gravel, paint, sand for the volley
ball court, parks amenities, tools, and other supplies to beautify and
preserve the park will be provided courtesy of Lowe’s Home Improvement
and the Family Safety Council’s Lowe’s Heroes program. The
City of Sacramento Parks Maintenance Division will supply tools, heavy
equipment, and materials to rejuvenate the baseball field.
